His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam underscored the need to increase the nation's agriculture production, in particular rice, and ensure that the country will reach self-sufficiency, especially at a time when the world is in the grip of a food crisis.

Now, Brunei have it's own local rice production called Laila Rice. For those who interested to buy or try Laila Rice, you can easily find and purchase it at Agriculture Department, MIPR.

Sarina's wedding day and night

As promised, i bring to you....Sarina's wedding day and night! Hehe i wasn't her photographer, just her reporter...haha not even close to that.

So the day had come. On Sunday 10 January 2010, venued at her residence, she sat grandly on the dais with her now officially husband. Both looking beautiful, and gorgeous, like a king and queen, or prince and princess, and the whole invitations couldnt take their eyes off them, especially from the ladies who envied Sarina's endless attention. It was a big day from her, a day she will never forget her whole life, it will be a recollection of one of her Sweet Memories indeed!!!

Sarina's powdering ceremony

Yep yep yep! It's called Powdering Ceremony! this is when the elders get to paint the bride/groom's face with 7 coloured powder! heheheh just kidding. I dont really know the origin of this event, but what i know is, the bride/groom will sit on the wedding stage/dais "pelamin" and the elders will rub the traditional 7 coloured powder on the bride/groom's hand.

A night to remember....opening ceremony of Asian Tourism Forum (ATF)

I attended (or more likely, worked!) the opening ceremony of the Asian Tourism Forum (ATF) held at The Empire Hotel and Country Club. I wasn't one of the appointed officials but I was invited by a fellow colleague to attend and give a hand. It was a dinner hosted for the NTO's of Asian countries. Im not really sure of this event, but it was a big one happening here in Brunei.

It was a wonderful and colorful evening, with lots of performance by Brunei's own local artists, and traditional performance. Oh man! it was beautiful! Never have I seen such joy and the kid performers were very much enjoying and pouring their heart out to the performance. It was lovely.

I feel obliged to post this cos I did gave my word to give a follow up on this event. 1 January 2010, New Year, and yes, new life for Sarina. No more single single, no more other boys, just one, have to stick to one hehehe. Im just kidding. Sarina will never forget this year's new year, because it's her Solemnization (Nikah) and soon wedding reception, which marked a change of her status to a married woman! yay!

It's been a while i don't update my blog.. sorry guys.. i'm so busy for the last few months. So, let's start all over again.. hehe..

Last week, i went to the 4th International Halal expo. Sorry..for the poor quality of picture, i don't bring along my camera. So, i just use my phone camera to capture some of the scene to share with you.

Quick info, the next expo for next year will be take place on 3rd-6th June 2010. So, you can start to make early arrangement if you interested to come and visit the expo.

Yesterday (Sunday) was our off day, but Me and Sarina were asked to come to work to assist in facilitating the Family Day which is held annually by our Ministry (oh by the way, MIPR stands for Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources). We came early in the morning at 6am and started the aerobic for warming up before we proceed with Walkathon.

As usual, me and Sarina had funny and cheeky moments hehe

As being mentioned by Sarina, I was one of the participants for the march pass and theme performance for the 25th Silver Jubillee National Day recently held. We had preparation a month earlier, and although it was very tiring, I am very much happy to be away from work for a while hehe, but all these cost me a very dark and TANNED face! Sunblocks don't work for Asian skin, I guess

The weather was initially inviting, with lightly dim sky and blowing wind, but turned glaringny hot as time passes by. I had tanned lining around the edge of my tudung (scarf), no matter how many bottles of sunblock I applied earlier on. Makes me miss the cool sorrounding of China back then.

Anyhow, here goes a very few pictures, the colourful even can be seen at ucingitam, ranoadidas and anakbrunei

A day to 25th National Day

For the past few weeks, my country (Brunei) is busy with the National Day rehearsal and guess what.. Azimas is one of the participant.. hehe.. lucky her become part of the precious day and full of memories and will be remember through out the history.

I don't think Azimas have time to take photos, so I take initiative to grab some photos from one of the famous website or most well known as Brunei's No.1 Social News (http://www.ranoadidas.com/) and some from http://anakbrunei.org/. I just want to share all my excitement to you all through this photos, how the participants put an effort, regardless how tired they are. Stranded...experience of a life time

All the delegates were suppose to return back home on the 23 November 2008 (Sunday) at different times. As for us, the Wenlai delegates, our flight was at 9.30am. We were excited to be going back home after 20 days missing our families and other loved ones hehe :)

Little did we know our flight was to be delayed without prior notice. By the time we reached the transit airport (Hong Kong International Airport) the check in counter had already closed and we were forced to stay a night there at The Airport Regal Hotel (very luxurious!!!)

We took the time to explore the nearest shopping complex to our hotel, the Citygate, and bought some necessities for the night e.g. fooooooood!!!

The next day, we woke up early, rushed to the airport to manage our re-book ticket, and took the time strolling at the Terminal 2 of the airport. It was HUGE!!!

Who wants to be a monitor?

Frankly, i think nobody will volunteer themselves to be a monitor, right? Am i that lucky to be nominated or the other way round.. haha nobody knows.. Nearly 3 weeks being a monitor, the most challenging task was to prepare the wrap-up speech. Believe it or not, my mind suddenly becomes blank! No ideas! What am i going to say!!

It's getting worst, when Shawn wants to read the speech around 10pm. I did not even start yet, not even a single word. Two more hours left.. idea! idea! idea! where are you!! hahaha..

To make it short, at last I managed to complete the speech even it's very short and simple but i hope the other delegates satisfied and so sorry if i missed some of the important points.

A long walk to Hangzhou's West Lake

Today we had the afternoon all to ourselves so we all decided to walk to the very famous West Lake...on foot!! Took us about 30min to reach the place, and another hour or more to complete the circle (almost!) around the lake, taking pictures every 5min in each spot.

I love the following pictures, because I took them spontaneously (except for the cheeky Sarina) without them realizing that each one of them is posing in a Dunhill style hehe.....NICE!!!

Xitang Ancient Town

All the way from Shanghai city, we went to Xitang as our next destination. Xitang is an ancient town with most of the house are made from stone. While we walk along the corridors, we were hypnotize by the movements and the musics from the chinese opera. Eventhough we don't understand but at least we enjoy the performance.

Along the corridors, there is a lot of small shops selling different kinds of things such as shoes, dolls, jade, foods and a lot more.

One thing that surprising me, some of the people there use birds to catch fish for them. They will tied the birds along the side of the boat, once the bird catch the fish, the fisherman will take away the fish from the bird. Anyway, the tour guide, wen wen told me. Not sure if it's true or not.

A walk in Shanghai city

We had the whole day all to ourselves, since we will be leaving for the next city of Hangzhou tomorrow morning, so we (excluding Min Min and Tun Tun) decided to take a walk at Shanghai's People's Square.

There was a lot of people, but that doesn't stop us from being silly on the street :)

After a long trip from the Great Wall of China and 1 hour shopping at Hong Qiao Pearl Market.. we stopped at one of the famous restaurant.. the special menu is Peking roasted duck. Sam was really happy because his dream comes true (eat the Peking roasted duck).. The interesting part, there was a demo how to eat the duck.. hehe..

It's really an interesting trip for me and my colleague, Azimas.. we share all the valuable moments with other delegates from Myanmar, Vietnam and Indonesia. All day full of happiness, smile, laugh and excitement.. Of course accompany by Shawn ( handsome Chinese Guy.. hehe..) who always be there when ever we need him, Carmen (tour guide.. wish u all the best for your wedding next year) and the bus driver ( sorry.. i don't remember your name) makes our day end with full of unforgetful memories.
